From action thrillers to mythology, the Indian film industry has continually created fresh ideas in a variety of categories. Another month, yet another assortment of interesting new titles in April. From Aditya Roy Kapur’s “Gumraah” to Salman Khan’s “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” here are a few movies and series you shouldn’t skip this month.

1. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
For his forthcoming movie, Salman Khan is returning to an action-oriented role. He plays an avenger in the film who takes it upon himself to keep society clear of crime. His siblings arrange for him to meet a lady who reminds him of a previous relationship. A family-friendly action comedy is the best way to describe the film. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on the 21st of April on Eid.

2. Gumraah
“Gumraah,” starring Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur, is set to release on 7th April. The teaser promises suspenseful drama, pleasant shocks, a sense of mystery, and surprising twists. In the film, Mrunal Thakur portrays a female police detective, and it seems that the two main protagonists in this thriller will engage in a compelling confrontation.
3. Shaakuntalam
The mythological thriller Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is set to release in theaters on April 14. The movie revolves around the legendary love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from the Mahabharata. Samantha and Dev Mohan play the lead roles in the film, which is based on the renowned Sanskrit drama Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. Noted filmmaker Gunasekhar, who directed Rudhramadevi, has written and directed the film. It is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banners of Gunna Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions, respectively.

4. Ponniyin Selvan 2
The historical drama’s first episode, which hit cinemas in September 2022, rose to become one of the highest-grossing movies in Tamil cinema history. The sequel to the film based on the same-titled epic book by Kalki Krishnamurthy, “Ponniyin Selvan 2,” will hit cinemas on April 28.

5. On A Wing And A Prayer
The film is based on the true story of a passenger who becomes a hero during a mid-air crisis. When the pilot unexpectedly dies, Doug White (played by Dennis Quaid) takes over and successfully lands the aircraft. The movie will premiere on Amazon Prime on April 7th.
6. Jubilee
The series, which is set during Bollywood’s Golden Era, follows the life of a studio boss and promises to take viewers on a captivating journey to the enthralling world of Jubilee. It will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on April 7, 2023.

7. Judy Blume Forever
If you grew up reading Judy Blume, you should watch this docu-series about her. Filmmakers Davina Pardo and Leah Wolchok pay tribute to the award-winning author by highlighting her work and accomplishments. This documentary premiers on Prime Video on the 21st of April.Â
8. Citadel
The espionage thriller starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden promises an exciting ride. The first two episodes of the first season will be available on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2023. Citadel will be available in more than 240 countries and regions around the world.
